Problems of illicit firearms trafficking in the region and the impacts of armed violence

Abstract
The illicit trafficking of firearms in the region significantly impacts social conflict and rates of gender violence. Therefore, States have the unavoidable obligation to prevent this crime and implement security policies from a disarmament perspective.
