Two central aspects of the crisis the new government to have to face are the macroeconomic and the social, which as to deal precisely with poverty and marginality. This paper suggests that in the macroeconomic front the challenge for the new administration is to reduce inflation and devaluate the monetary unit or peso, thus closing the gap by way of tax reform and a solve the quasi-fiscal deficit, thus saving the poorest segment of the population from the burden of its effects. On the social front, however, the main challenge is the considerable amount of the national debt and the increasing poverty. As a way to solve it, the new administration should be able to combine sound social and political policies, to recover, increase and orientate social investments, with a more efficient planning, through a working relationship with civil society, gradually overcoming traditional vices of the so called "asistencialismo", "clientelismo" and the consequent lack of a firm and solid State.
