Niños del Camino

The following study results from a team research sponsored by the NGO "Niños del Camino". The study refers to the reality of street children and adolescents. It draws a profile of their lives, including the causes that motivate them to leave home. It studies how the lives of street children and adolescents evolve and how they value the institutions that support them. The study concludes with some guidelines for action. A welfare policy supporting that marginalized sector of the population will need to bear in mind that its most important task is to make these marginalized children and adolescents subjects of their own development, well beyond paternal welfarist practicas.
