Abstract
Nothing so fitiingly contradicts on a daily basis the humanist ideal of yielding some ground or some right for the sake of mutual recognition and of a civil coexistence than lhe way we drive our cars in the streets of Santo Domingo. In lhe wake of lhe iII faled 11th of September lhe author reviews new forms of violence in our society placing them also within the wider and more persistent framework of an authoritative culture with lítile regard for ínstitutional forms.
