Abstract
This article presents part of the results of qualitative research conducted in the cities of New York and Barcelona in 2011. From the case study of 14 Dominican families with separation and reunion experiences between mothers and sons, it has been examined how Dominicans immigrant mothers manage to maintain parental support during they live apart of their sons and daughters. The research shows that these mothers and their kids make up transnational spaces of family socialization and parental involvement.
