Sobre la calidad de la educación popular

This is a synthesis and commentary of the final document of the Movement Fe y Alegría on the quality of the education for the people, fruit of the thirty fourth international congress held in Bogotá in 2003. The concept of educational quality is tackled, as a construction which is constructed in the social sphere, and its components are defined starting from the identity and educational mission of the institution. This implies a conceptual effort in formulating a notion of educational quality true to the complexity of the vision and educational commitment of the organization, over and above the mere urge of efficiency and effectiveness. This document highlights the specificity and multiplicity of factors and relations in play when an educational effort is developed for and with the poor in relegated and disfavored social contexts. Quality educatian commits the movement to build educational communities in which the integrity of the person is furthered as well as a more just society.
