Modelos de ciudadanía: Un acercamiento teórico
Abstract
The author follows the steps involved in the expansion of the definition of citizenship (in the sense of legal status) into one which includes cultural and social traits. Concepts of citizenship are presented within the context of modern and post modern social theories. Within these last ones, she highlights four: democratic citizenship in the sense of reciprocal recognition and a democratic distribution of goods, radical democratic citizenship, citizenship in a broad sense and consumer citizenship. The idea is to acquaint ourselves with different appraisals of citizenship in order to re-think our individual and collective responsibility in the public sphere.
